The pattern of the Chinese nation is one of diversity and unity.The regional culture of each place in China is an indispensable part of Chinese culture.Guangxi regional culture has a special position and function in Sino-foreign cultural exchange because of its similarity with Southeast Asian culture.Chinese culture course is the core course of TCSOL major.Chinese cultural textbook are the embodiment of Chinese culture curriculum standards.It reflects the author’s understanding of Chinese culture and orientation to cultural teaching,which affects the achievement of teaching objectives.The research object of this thesis is seven textbooks used in the Chinese culture course for the major of TCSOL in Guangxi universities.The regional culture in the textbook is compared from two aspects: the content of cultural elements and the writing style.This paper investigates the cultural teaching of students and teachers in this major,which including international students,and puts forward some ideas on the compilation of regional cultural textbook in Guangxi.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.This part introduces the background of this research,the relevant research of predecessors,the purpose and significance of this research,the research content and research methods,and the seven textbooks to be compared.The second part is the comparison of regional culture.Starting with the regional culture involved in the seven textbooks,this paper makes a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences in the selection of cultural elements and compilation styles in eight fields,including national history,geographical tourism,food culture,literature and art,festival customs,traditional handicrafts,costume culture and architectural culture.It is found that regional culture,especially the regional culture of Guangxi,takes a very small proportion in the contents of the seven textbooks,which are all written in the form of text introduction.The third part is the investigation of regional culture teaching.Questionnaire and interview were used to investigate the students and teachers of TCSOL.It is found that the regional culture of Guangxi is seldom directly involved in the teaching of Chinese culture courses for TCSOL majors at present,but students have a strong learning demand for regional culture of Guangxi due to the needs of professional learning and intercultural communication.The fourth part is the design of regional culture teaching materials.This paper puts forward some ideas on the compilation of Guangxi regional culture textbook from two aspects of the selection of cultural elements and the compilation style.For example,the characteristic regional culture elements of Guangxi can be selected from many fields such as ethnic history and diet culture,and the compilation form can be written,audio-visual and other ways.The fifth part is the conclusion,including briefly summarized,the shortcomings of the research and the direction and objectives of the follow-up research.
