| English learning is a complex process includes observing,imitating,recognizing,memorizing,thinking and using.A number of English learners begin to learn English with listening to the words’ pronunciation.Then they try to read and speak.After that,they learn to memorize and write.However,during the real learning process,English learners will meet a large number of English words.What’s more,with the words,grammar items and English articles increasing,if the students do not have a good base of English learning,it will become more difficult for them to follow the English learning when they go to junior high school and senior high school.Then the more they learn,the more tough they will feel.The more tough they feel,the less interest they will have in study.Therefore,this thesis tries to use mind map in English teaching,hoping that it can not only improve the students’ interest in English learning,but also help the students find the rules of English memory,thus improve students’ ability of English memory.By the 8-week-experiment of mind map teaching,it tries to answer the following three questions: first of all,could mind map teaching improve the students’ interest in English learning? Then,can mind map teaching help students master the rules of English memory? At last,could mind map teaching improve the students’ ability of English memory?Therefore,this thesis will mainly use the following three research methods like documents,questionnaires and experimental method.Then 90 students in two classes of Grade 9 from a middle school in Shaoguan will be chosen as research objects in the teaching experiment.The experiment will last for 8 weeks including: Class 1 as the experimental class,using the mind map to help English study;Class 2 as the control class,they will be taught in traditional teaching ways.Then,the software of SPSS will be used to analyze the experiments’ data.According to the results of the experiment,we can make the following conclusions.First,the students’ interest could be aroused by using mind map in English teaching.Second,using mind map in English teaching could help students find the rules of English memory.Third,using mind map in English teaching can improve students’ ability of English memory.As a result,using mind map in English teaching could help the students memorize the English words,grammar and passages more quickly.By drawing mind maps,the students could not only improve the students’ memory,but also improve the students’ thinking ability.At the same time,this teaching method also plays an important role in English learning and thinking. |
