A Hundred Years Of Research On The Theory Of Modern Translation Of Ancient Chinese

The translation of ancient Chinese plays an important role in popularizing ancient knowledge and culture and cultivating patriotism.In the new era,modern translation of ancient Chinese is an important tool for the transition from classical culture to modern culture and an important part of the modernization of the country.Therefore,the future development of modern translation of ancient Chinese deserves our attention.Since May 4th movement,the translation of ancient Chinese has been a hundred years old.In the past 100 years,the academic circles have made many researches on the theoretical research of modern translation of ancient Chinese,including the purpose and significance of the translation,the exploration of theoretical methods and the theoretical criticism of the modern translation works.However,no comprehensive and systematic study has been made on the theoretical research of the translation of ancient Chinese and modern.This paper summarizes the theoretical research of the translation of ancient Chinese in the past 100 years,and on this basis,it gives some suggestions for the theoretical research of the future translation of ancient Chinese.The research is divided into three parts.First,the author classifies the collected research materials in different periods and classifies them,and analyzes the quantity,and obtains the characteristics of the theoretical research on the translation of ancient Chinese in the past.The research finds that the theoretical research of modern translation of ancient Chinese mainly focuses on three aspects: the purpose and significance of the translation of ancient Chinese,the exploration of the theoretical methods of modern translation and the theoretical criticism of the modern translation works,while the exploration of the theory of modern translation of ancient Chinese and the discussion of the system of machine translation of ancient Chinese are very few.Secondly,the author classifies the specific contents of the theoretical research of modern translation of ancient Chinese,obtains the specific achievements of the academic circles in the theoretical research of modern translation of ancient Chinese,and finds out the consensus and differences in the theoretical research of modern translation of ancient Chinese.The research finds that experts and scholars have reached a certain degree of consensus on the theoretical methods of modern translation of ancient Chinese,but there are still differences in the purpose,significance and quality evaluation standards of the translation of ancient Chinese,and there are still many problems in the process of modern translation of ancient Chinese.Thirdly,based on the current situation of the research on the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose,this paper proposes that the theoretical research on the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose must be based on the practice of the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose.It can deepen the theoretical research on the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose from three aspects: the theoretical system of the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose,the method system of the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose and the theoretical criticism system of the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose,so as to make the theoretical research on the modern translation of ancient Chinese prose more systematic.Moreover,the theoretical research on the modern translation of ancient Chinese should be based on the practice of the modern translation of ancient Chinese,and establish a theoretical system that is fully applicable to the modern translation of ancient Chinese.In addition,we should strengthen the practice and theoretical exploration of machine translation.
