As the first protagonist of The Dream of Red Mansions,Jia Baoyu was named“there is no one in this age” by Zhi Yanzhai,In the seventeenth chapter,Jia Baoyu first entered the Grand View Garden and published the theory of “naturalness”.At first glance,it seems unremarkable.This article focuses on Jia Baoyu’s exposition on “natural” in the seventeenth chapter,specifically goes deep into the core of the text,analyzes the cause,performance and value of his “natural” view,and summarizes and further the behavioral program that Jia Baoyu pursues.Explore.“Natural” does not seem worthy of scrutiny in the eyes of the time,but Jia Baoyu raised it to a theoretical level.Cao Xueqin created the “Poetry Country” of Grand View Garden.Baoyu’s first visit to the garden was to overlook the whole garden with the eyes of "natural" and put forward the theory of “natural”.It seems unintentional,but the essence reflects that “natural” is the reference for judging things,the aesthetic ideal and the criterion of behavior.It is worth mentioning that Baoyu’s behavior and activities will be carried out in the Grand View Garden afterwards.The Grand View Garden is his dwelling place in the real world.Therefore,the “natural”theory before moving into the Grand View Garden should be Cao Xueqin’s “grass gray snake line”.The pen runs through and dominates Baoyu’s thoughts,emotions,words and deeds afterwards.The character image of Jia Baoyu condenses Cao Xueqin’s too much life experience and life thinking.Only by absorbing and summarizing the thoughts of Lao Zhuang,Ji Ruan,Ming and Qing’s dominant sentimental thoughts,can he reflect on himself like Jia Baoyu.,Advocating natural characters.“Natural”emphasizes authenticity and self,which is to face the redemption of self by human nature and escape the control of the soul by power.The proposal of Jia Baoyu’s“natural”view shows Cao Xueqin’s advanced thinking.This progressive thinking does not belong to that era but to the future.Thinking far-sighted needs to rely on reality to achieve the feasibility of this theory in practice.Obviously,this idea is not feasible in reality.This also caused the limitation of Baoyu’s thoughts and created his(Baoyu)ultimate tragedy.In spite of this,Jia Baoyu’s“natural”view calls for true humanity,after all,it is far ahead of that era.It is like a morning star in the vast dark night,showing the light after dawn.
