| Near miss Events are special events that avoid negative consequences due to a lucky chance. In our life,we are easily influenced by the experience of previous events, especially the lucky ones. For example, even though the risk of running a red light is certain, people like to run red lights because there is no negative consequence of previous experience.Near-miss Events lead people to ignore the potential risks of the events. The purpose of this study is explores the psychological mechanism of Near miss Events affecting risky decision. In this study, three studies were conducted to explore the chain mediating effects of temporal distance and risk perception on the relationship between Near-miss Events and risk-taking behavior from single decision making and dynamic repeated decision making respectively. In Experiment 1,In single decision making, temporal distance was added to the previous studies to investigate the influence of time distance on the Near miss Events, risk perception and risk-taking behavior.Experiment 2a examined the relationship between Near miss Events and risk-taking behavior and the trend of dynamic changes from the perspective of dynamic repeated decision making. In experiment 2b,the influence of weather experience was excluded based on experiment 2a.In Experiment 3,heuristic nudging was used to investigate the application value of nudging in helping people make prudent decisions. The results of this study are as follows:(1)In single decision making,Near-miss Events can directly predict risk-taking behavior;(2)Compared with non-Near miss Events, individuals in the Near miss Events perceived the longer temporal distance, had lower risk perception, and more risk-taking behaviors;(3)In dynamic repeated decision making, risk perception has a significant mediating effect on the relationship between round and risk taking behavior in Near miss Events;(4)In dynamic repeated decision making, temporal distance and risk perception have significant chain mediating effects on the relationship between round and risk taking behavior in Near miss Events;(5)The effect of nudging on the relationship between round and risk-taking behavior is not significant in Near miss Events. In conclusion,,this study explores the relationship between the Near miss Events, temporal distance, risk perception and risk-taking behavior and found the internal psychological mechanism of risk perception and temporal distance in the Near miss Events and risk-taking behavior under dynamic repeated decision making. This study provides a theoretical basis for the mechanism of risk-taking behavior and Near miss Events, and comprehensively investigates the influence of temporal distance and risk perception from the perspective of single decision and dynamic repeated decision making,so as to provide reference for the follow-up research of Near miss Events. |
