A Practice Report On Escort Interpreting In Sichuan Sunseast Building Ceramics Art Center

As China’s international status continues to rise,more and more foreigners have taken a keen interest in Chinese culture.Tourist attractions have become one of the display windows of Chinese culture,and there is an increasing demand for guide interpretation.As a communication bridge between China and foreign visitors,the interpreter also shoulders the mission of spreading Chinese culture.Ceramics is the pillar industry of Jiajiang county,and the Jiajiang government has made great efforts to develop ceramics tourism in recent years.As the first ceramics museum in Jiajiang,Sunseast Building Ceramics Art Center exhibits a variety of building ceramics and art ceramics.In June 2020,the author accompanied a foreigner to visit this art center.The text used in the practice report comes from this interpretation practice.The main parts of this interpretation report are pre-preparation,the process of interpretation and case analysis.From the perspective of interpretive theory,the author analyzes the problems encountered,the interpretation skills used and the defects in the process of interpretation.To finish this interpretation well,amplification,omission,explanation and non-verbal interpretation are adopted.At the same time,the author analyzes the defects in this escort interpretation and proposed corresponding solutions.Through the analysis of this interpretation practice report,the author realizes that interpretation needs a large amount of cognitive knowledge,comprehensive pre-preparation,quickly spot reaction and calm mind.It is hoped that the analysis of this paper can provide some reference for other students in the field of escort interpreting.
