Undergraduate music majors in colleges and universities are created to cultivate the highly qualified “music talents with multiple abilities” in the society.As a compulsory course for music majors in colleges,dance courses play a positive role in improving the construction of music disciplines,strengthen the relationship between music and dance,cultivate students’ interest in learning,develop their sense of art and art thinking,and comprehensively improve their comprehensive abilities,so that they can better meet the requirements of the music talents in modern society.Based on this investigation,the research ideas of this paper are as follows: First,through literature research,the author organizes and analyzes the current situation of undergraduate music major dance curriculum settings,curriculum content,teaching methods,and curriculum evaluation in colleges and universities.Second,on the basis of analyzing the current situation and sorting out existing research results,through self-compiled questionnaires and in-depth interviews,surveys,data statistics and analysis of teachers and students in seven colleges and universities in Gansu Province.Supported by ancient music and dance theory and theory of multiple intelligences,from the five aspects of faculty,teaching conditions,course content,teaching methods and course evaluation,the author explores its main problems and puts forward reasonable suggestions and solutions suitable for the construction of dance courses for undergraduate music majors in and colleges in Gansu Province.At present,there are the following problems in the dance courses for undergraduate music majors in colleges and universities in Gansu Province: 1.There are not enough dance teachers;2.Teaching fields and facilities need to be improved;3.Course content and orientation are unreasonable;4.Teaching methods are too traditional;5.Monotonous mode of course evaluation.This has led to the monotonous mode of the ability of music education talents in the demand for art education teachers in primary and secondary schools,and the inadequate capability of music talents in performances.The following countermeasures and suggestions are put forward in the research for this purpose: 1.Strengthen the construction of faculty and cultivate innovative talents;2.Improve the dance teaching environment and create a strong artistic atmosphere;3.Optimize the content of dance courses,pay attention to relevance and universality;4.Enrich the teaching methods of dance courses and improve students’ enthusiasm;5.Establish multiple curriculum evaluation methods to understand and cultivate students.
