Research On Arnold Berleant’s Environmental Aesthetics Thoughts

Arnold Berlin,the founder of Western environmental aesthetics,his construction of the environmental aesthetics ideological system and a series of major aesthetic theoretical issues raised not only reflect the reflection and criticism of traditional aesthetics,but also conforms to the requirements of the development and reform of aesthetics.More importantly,the ecological,physical,and daily life dimensions embodied in his environmental aesthetics thoughts are three important dimensions with aesthetic historical significance in contemporary aesthetics.It can be said that these are several important changes in contemporary aesthetics.Has a great facilitating effect.Based on this,this thesis is based on Arnold Blind’s environmental aesthetics thinking,incorporating the three dimensions of ecology,body,and daily life into the problem domain of the research,and has made detailed analysis and combing respectively.The first chapter mainly expounds the obvious ecological dimension reflected in Arnold Berleant’s environmental aesthetics thought,which is also the primary dimension of his environmental aesthetics research.Arnold Berleant highly praised the development of ecological connotation and introduced ecological thinking into the construction of his environmental aesthetics.His ecological view of the environment,which integrates many philosophical theories,fully embodies this point;and under the ecological understanding,Arnold Berlin has re-understood and defined the concept of environment,and built it on this basis.In the "aesthetic participation" model proposed above,ecological knowledge also implicitly participates in the environmental aesthetic experience in a "physicalized" way.The second chapter starts from the core category "body" of Arnold Berlin’s environmental aesthetic model,and focuses on the physical dimension embodied in his environmental aesthetics.He emphasized that aesthetic appreciation is actually a kind of physical participation,So Arnold Berleant first consciously broke the framework of the traditional western body-mind dualism,and drew on various theoretical resources to provide the possibility for the appearance of the body in his own environmental aesthetics.Secondly,he put forward the environmental aesthetic model with body participation as the core,which fully verified the presence of body in its environmental aesthetics.In addition,he put forward the important theory of "aesthetic physicalization",which places the body at the core of perceptual experience and emphasizes the aesthetic physicalization,so that we can re-understand aesthetic experience based on the concept of body,which has been ignored by tradition.The third chapter mainly expounds the daily life dimension in Arnold Blind’s environmental aesthetics.On the basis of accepting Dewey’s philosophy,Arnold Berleant criticized and corrected the distinction between traditional aesthetics and daily life,and combined with relevant artistic experience,strengthened the connection between aesthetic experience and daily life experience in his own environmental aesthetics.In addition,he focuses on the urban environment,that is,our daily living environment,and makes a detailed analysis of the aesthetic experience of the daily living environment,and finds that the aesthetic perception of the urban environment is the aesthetic experience of the daily life to some extent.In addition,Arnold Berleant’s environmental aesthetics is also a kind of applied aesthetics,which has an important guiding significance for the improvement of our daily living environment.The building of a humanized urban environment proposed by him fully reflects this point.
