Honorific plays an important role in Chinese language.There are a lot of honorific words in Chinese due to the infiltration of courtesy culture.As a result,to master proper knowledge of honorific and to use honorific correctly in communication can improve the communicative level of Chinese as a second language learner.Starting with the teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper systematically use cultural linguistics,cognitive psychology and information processing theory to expound the classification,structure,function and cultural connotation of honorific and analyze the present situation of honorific teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in detail.In view of existing problems in the honorific teaching,some suggestions are given to provide some useful enlightenment for the honorific teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in future.The whole text is divided into five parts:The first part is an overview of the purpose,significance,research status,trends,the main content,innovations and shortcomings of the study.The second one is the ontological study of honorific,which mainly discusses the concept,classification,structure,function and cultural connotation of honorific in detail.The third one is the analysis of the present situation of honorific teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and the situation and problems of honorific glossary in the outlines and textbooks of teaching Chinese as a foreign language are mainly analyzed in this part.The fourth one is the suggestions on honorific teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,including the compilation of outlines and textbooks and teaching strategies.The fifth is the conclusion of this paper.We strive to show the situation of honorific glossary in the outlines and textbooks and the present situation of honorific teaching in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language with data.On this basis,the problems in honorific teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language are summarized.Finally,we will offer some recommendations accordingly to teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
