The individual social development of adolescents has always been an important aspect of psychological researchers’ attention.School and family,as the main growth environment of adolescents, play an important role in their social development.School,as the earliest external social environment in the early growth of adolescents, affects the socialization of individuals, especially in the process of communication with peers.Individuals more directly get the way of behavior and the exchange of ideas from the peer relationship.Family,as the earliest internal development environment, affects the cognition and concept of individual socialization. As an important aspect of individual family function, the resolution quality of parent-adolescent conflict is closely related to the formation of adolescent personality and the development of social cognition and skills. At the same time,it will provide children with a learning method on how to deal with conflict, which can be applied to peer communication and affect the quality of socialization. If teenagers encounter offence in interpersonal communication, taking the attitude of forgiveness is the harmonious value orientation advocated by the society now.According to attachment theory, the internal pattern formed in the growth interaction will affect the level of individual self-esteem.Based on previous studies, individuals with high self-esteem will use more strategies to protect themselves, which greatly affects whether individuals adopt a forgiving attitude when they are offended.Domestic scholars have not involved more studies on the influence of parent-adolescent conflict on adolescent peer relationship which is different from that of father and mother, and few studies have added interpersonal forgiveness and high self-esteem to this model. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship between parent-adolescent conflict with father and mother and adolescent peer relationship, and to explain the mechanism of interpersonal forgiveness, high self-esteem and age in the effect of parent-adolescent conflict on adolescent peer relationship. In this study,943 middle and high school students from several ordinary middle schools in Shanxi Province were selected as the research objects by using the questionnaire of parent-adolescent conflict, peer relationship scale, interpersonal aggression motivation scale,self-esteem scale and social expectation scale as the research tools, and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)There were significant differences in paternity conflict among different genders and ages. The frequency of paternity conflict in boys was higher than that in girls. The frequency of paternity conflict in late adolescence was higher than that in early and middle adolescence. There was no significant difference in mother-adolescent conflict among different genders and ages. There was no significant difference in interpersonal forgiveness among different genders, but there was significant difference in age.Interpersonal forgiveness in early adolescence was significantly higher than that in middle and late youth.(2)Father-adolescent conflict and mother-adolescent conflict can negatively predict adolescent peer relationship, that is,the more frequent parent-adolescent conflict and mother-adolescent conflict are,the more negative adolescent peer relationship will be.(3)Father-adolescent conflict and mother-adolescent conflict can negatively predict adolescents’ interpersonal forgiveness, while interpersonal forgiveness can positively predict adolescents’ peer relationship. The higher the father-adolescent conflict and mother-adolescent conflict, the lower the interpersonal forgiveness will lead to adolescents’ interpersonal forgiveness, and the lower the interpersonal forgiveness will lead to adolescents’ peer relationship more negative;(4)Interpersonal forgiveness plays a partially mediating role in the effects of father-adolescent conflict and mother-adolescent conflict on adolescent peer relationship, that is,parent-adolescent conflict indirectly affects adolescent peer relationship through interpersonal forgiveness. In the mother-adolescent model, the mediating effect accounts for 15% of the total effect, and in the father-adolescent model,it accounts for 11% of the total effect.(5)High self-esteem does not play a moderating role in the mediating mechanism of the effects of parent-adolescent conflict and mother-child conflict on adolescent peer relationship, while age has a significant moderating role in the latter half of the mediating mechanism, that is,early adolescent individuals’ interpersonal forgiveness has a greater impact on the maintenance of peer relationship.
