As we all know, artificial intelligence is one of the hottest industries in the world today.China has made remarkable achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and is ranked as a world AI power alongside the United States and Japan. At present, most of the materials in computer disciplines are imported from abroad. With the increasing of scientific and technological academic exchanges between China and westerncountries, the needfor the English translation of scientific and technological academic texts in China has become more and more urgent. In this background, the translation practice of C-E translation of science and technology has certain practical significance. This translationpractice is guided by the "functional equivalence" theory pro posed by Nida, and the book Introduction to Artificial Intelligence is selected as the source text for the C-E translation practice.Artificial intelligence text translation belongs to the category of science and technology translation,so it has the stylistic characteristics of science and technology text.Scientific and technical texts are informative texts, the main purpose of which is to convey professional knowledge and information in the relevant scientific field in an objective, accurate, standardized, and concise manner.By analyzing the theory of functional equivalence, the translator believes that the theory is not only a guide for C-E translationof scientific and technical texts but also helps the translator to improve the quality of translation. In the translation process, the translator focuses on the problems encountered in translation practice and the corresponding solutions, including the translation of technical vocabulary, the conversion of active to passive sentences, the translation of non-subject sentences, and the processing of logic cohesion. The literal translation and literal annotation translation method are used to achieve lexical equivalence;the syntactic equivalence is achieved through the treatment of non-subjective sentences and the conversion of morphology;the logic of scientific and technical texts is strict, and needs to add logical conjunctions and indicative pronouns and reorganize the information structure of the sentences to achieve the discourse equivalence of the two texts so that the understanding of the target text by the target reader conforms to that by the source reader to the greatest extent, thus providing a reference for researchers working in related fields.
