| In recent years,China has become the fastest growing and the largest luxury consumer market in the world.As the favorite of global luxury brands,Chinese Mainland has become the world’s third largest luxury goods market next to the United States and Japan.Many international consulting institutions are very optimistic about the Chinese mainland market and believe that China will surpass the United States and Japan to become the world’s largest luxury goods country after 2020.Some of Chinese luxury brands are also starting to make their mark internationally.Company profile plays an important role in shaping a good enterprise image,attracting customers to buy products,and improving the competitiveness of enterprises.The Chinese-English translation of enterprise profiles is crucial for Chinese local luxury brands to enter the international market,and the translation needs to achieve good social influence in order to attract consumers.Under In this paper,the author guided by the theory of functionalism,studies and analyzes the text types,translation purposes and translation strategies of the Chinese-English translations of the profiles of Chinese local luxury enterprises,and compares the profiles of Chinese and foreign companies from the perspective of cultural and linguistic factors.This paper mainly consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction,explaining the background,significance and framework of the paper.In the second part,it is the literature review which introduces the development of functionalist translation theory,the previous studies and the enlightenment for the subsequent studies.The third part is the introduction of the introduction of luxury enterprises.Firstly,the translation of the introduction of luxury enterprises makes a brief introduction.Secondly,it compares Chinese and English company profiles from the aspects of vocabulary,grammar,discourse and subject.At last,the mistakes and problems in the translation of Chinese enterprise profiles are described.In the fourth part,the author points out that the translation of luxury enterprise profile should follow three principles,namely the principle of purpose,the principle of reader-oriented translation and the principle of translator’s subjectivity.Then the author uses the suitable for luxury company profile of four kinds of translation methods,including free translation and omission,addition and restructuring,analyze and solve local Chinese luxury goods companies in the introduction of translation problems.The fifth part is the conclusion of the article,summarizing the full paper,putting forward the deficiency of the study,and giving suggestions for the future study of luxury enterprises profile. |
