| Psychological resilience refers to the individual’s ability to re-adapt to the external environment after experiencing major stress situations and adversity,such as danger,trauma,frustration,etc.,which reflects an individual’s ability to recover and adapt from a tough environment.Generally,the physical function of exceptional child has been impaired since childhood,in such serious adverse environment,it is more likely to cause serious psychological problems such as depression,anxiety,inferiority complex and other behaviors such as avoidance and withdrawal.Therefore,the education of exceptional children,especially mental health education,has been the key focus of special education scholars persistently.At present,there are relatively few researches on the psychological resilience of exceptional children.While the research on the psychological resilience of exceptional children can not only enrich the research content in the field of psychological resilience of exceptional children,but also provide certain theoretical basis for improving the psychological resilience condition of exceptional children and promoting the development of mental health condition of exceptional children to a certain extent.In this study,102 exceptional children were assessed with Healthy Kids Resilience Assessment(HKRA)and General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES).In addition,group counseling was given to them for eight weeks.The research mainly involved the following three aspects.First of all,the psychological resilience of exceptional children was investigated and the differences in demographic variables were analyzed.Secondly,the general self-efficacy conditions of exceptional children were evaluated,moreover,the relationship between the psychological resilience conditions and general self-efficacy of exceptional children was explored subsequently.Thirdly,psychological intervention was carried out on exceptional children by group counseling method,and the effect of group counseling was evaluated simultaneously.The results are as follows:(1)The psychological resilience of exceptional children was in the middle level,and there was no significant difference in gender,birthplace,only child or not,and the type of disability.Notably,only in the dimension of natural disability or not,children with congenital disability were significantly lower than those with acquired disability.(2)The general self-efficacy of exceptional children was in the middle level,and there was no significant difference in gender,birthplace,only child or not and congenital disability or not.While only in the dimension of disability category,children with visual disability were significantly lower than those with speech and hearing disability,moreover,there was a positive correlation between general self-efficacy and psychological resilience of exceptional children,the higher the self-efficacy was,the higher the level of psychological resilience was.(3)Group counseling improved the psychological resilience level of exceptional children to a certain extent,which indicates that the group counseling intervention is appropriate for exceptional children with significant effects. |
