In order to enhance the enthusiasm of foreign students in spoken Chinese learning,stimulate their interest and improve their spoken Chinese communication level,based on the input hypothesis,audio-visual method,cross-cultural communication and other theories,this paper,takes 16 Sri Lankan students from Chongqing Normal University who have advanced Chinese level as the research object,and discusses the advantages and feasibility of variety show in advanced spoken Chinese teaching as a foreign language.Meanwhile,it studies how the variety show can be effectively applied to the advanced spoken Chinese class.Based on classroom practice,supplemented by literature analysis and questionnaire survey,this paper concludes that variety show has the application advantages of providing a real Chinese communication environment,improving the effect of communication strategies and enhancing students’ language expression ability.It also discusses the countermeasures of variety show from three aspects: network technology,teachers’ professional quality and students’ emotional attitude.At the same time,taking the variety show "Informal Talks" as an example,this paper expounds the teaching practice and carries out a questionnaire survey to test the application effect of Variety Show.After the teaching practice of variety shows,in order to achieve high-quality spoken Chinese class,it suggests that before class,Chinese teachers should make sure that variety shows are used as teaching aids,take students’ interests as the starting point,combine spoken topics with students’ real life,and prepare video content that meets the teaching requirements;in class,encourage students to express themselves and improve classroom participation;after class,communicate with students frequently,understand students’ ideas and problems about spoken Chinese learning,adjust the teaching content timely.
