The implementation of China’s education reform is steady and stable. At the moment when the educational reform is in full swing, many ideas, ways and methods of education are constantly inherited and abandoned in the tide of the times, and the impact and innovation of the traditional classroom have also left the corresponding brand of the times. The education of young people in minority areas and multi-ethnic mixed areas is constantly accepting advanced teaching concepts, but also puts many complex and changeable educational problems in front of the vast number of educators. As a member of the Chinese nation’s family,Tibetans have many problems in education, and there are few ways that can be used for reference. With the increasingly close communication of globalization and the deepening of exchanges between the Chinese and Tibetan ethnic groups, autonomous learning has been called for many years in the educational field. There is no doubt that the study of the differences between Chinese and Tibetan students in English autonomous learning has rich practical significance. In the case of scarce comparative research on Han-Tibetan education, this study aims to compare the learning problems of Han high school students and Tibetan high school students. This study focuses on the differences between 120 Han high school students and 120 Tibetan high school students in Lhasa in English autonomous learning. The questionnaire and interview used in this study, based on "High School English Curriculum Standard ",draw lessons from Li Xiuping and Gao Jili’s "High School English Autonomous Learning Questionnaire ".Through questionnaires and interviews, after carefully combing and carefully comparing the data collected from five aspects of autonomous learning(learning strategy,self-regulation,self-planning,self-monitoring,self-assessment),learning motivation, learning style and attribution ability, the author tries to explore the differences between Han and Tibetan high school students in English autonomous learning. The results show that Tibetan high school students are better than Han high school students in English autonomous learning, but the advantages are not huge.According to the results of the investigation and interview, the author summarizes some research enlightenment, tries to provide some new ideas for the education problem in Tibet, and contributes to the educational development of the Han and Tibetan ethnic groups.
