A Research On Adorno’s Cultural Philosophy

The aggravation of the crisis of modernity requires us to begin to pay attention to the culture closely related to people’s life style and mode of production,and to reflect on it deeply.Adorno’s cultural philosophy can not be formed without the background of big industry and the influence of such people as Marxism and Gy?rgy Lukács.Firstly,non-identity,as the metaphysical foundation of Adorno’s cultural philosophy,is the negation and deconstruction of the western traditional identity philosophy,as well as the reconstruction of the traditional dialectics,which is anti-system and anti-totality.The thought of non-identity emphasizes the heterogeneous concepts such as reflection,freedom,equality and pluralism,which is manifested in the theory of atonal music and star cluster in cultural philosophy.This is a non-systematic and heterogeneous philosophical thinking.Secondly,the core of Adorno’s cultural philosophy is the critical thought of cultural industry,which is the criticism of cultural commercialization,instrumental rationality and cultural ideology.Theodor W.Adorno holds that the principle of capitalist exchange is the fundamental cause of the cultural industry,and that non identity is the negation of the philosophy of identity consciousness and the negation of the cultural industry under the control of instrumental rationality.Third,Adorno’s cultural philosophy was developed on the basis of inheriting the Marxist philosophy,and it deepens Marxism’s cultural philosophy of subjectivity practice at the levels of ideology,critical theory,art and aesthetics.The study of Adorno’s cultural philosophy is of great significance for us to dispel the “Nostalgia”in the sense of culture and to understand the essence of art in the sense of philosophy.But Theodor W.Adorno’s cultural philosophy has its own shortcomings,he did not find a real way out of the cultural crisis,can only be confined to the circle of philosophy of consciousness.
