Literary Award And Construction Of Literary History

The development and changes of literature are inseparable from the development of society.The literary features and value pursuits of different eras all echo the social reality.Various literary works,literary thoughts,and literary phenomena have hidden social characteristics.At the same time as the rapid development of economy,politics,science and technology in the 19 th and 20 th centuries,countries around the world have gradually become closer,cultural exchanges are active,aesthetic consensus is enhanced,and literature spreads quickly and in a wide range.In this social reality,literature has also undergone tremendous changes,with new literary phenomena appearing frequently,among which,literary awards are one kind.Both internationally and domestically,various literary awards have emerged,and literary awards have developed rapidly.Since the founding of New China,with the deepening of reform and opening up and the rapid development of the market economy,there have been hundreds of contentions in the field of literature,a variety of literary theories have been gathered,and various ways of literary and artistic evaluation have been used.As a special way of literary evaluation,literary award has been standardized and guided to develop after its award evaluation mechanism has been established,and has become a literary phenomenon closely related to literature,which has left a mark in the various stages of literary development in the new era.Mao Dun Literature Award,as the highest prize in Chinese novel,its status and value is self-evident,which has attracted wide attention in the academic word.However,with the development of time,there are many opinions on the evaluation of the Mao Dun Literature Award.Among the numerous research results,there are articles that vigorously publicize and affirm its value,and there are also authoritative articles questioning the Mao Dun Literature Award from two aspects: the artistic value of the winning works and the formality of the awarding process.However,there are few researches on the relationship between literary award and the literary history.Therefore,this paper will take the Mao Dun Literature Award as the research object,use its evaluation criteria,evaluation purpose and previous winning works as materials,based on the analysis of the Mao Dun Literature Award for literature creation of the positive role and the problems of the evaluation mechanism of the MAO dun literature prize,discuss the relationship between the Mao Dun Literature Award and the construction of literary history,and point out that the core reason for the Mao Dun Literature Prize in the marginal position of literary history lies in the award system.In order to re-establish the authority of Mao Dun Literature Award,the emphasis should be shifted to the quality of the work,and the Mao Dun Literature Award should be improved from the institutional level.The relationship between research literature awards and the construction of literary history has different meanings.The research of the two can not only clarify the shortcomings of literary awards,put forward improvement suggestions,make it better into the literary history,but also provide some reference value for the follow-up research of literary awards.At the same time,a serious study of the MAO dun literature prize and a proper evaluation of its status in the history of literature,for the correct understanding and measurement of contemporary literature,as well as the exploration of the concept of contemporary literary creation,has not to be underestimated the enlightenment significance.
