| The film adaptation of novels is an enduring topic.Since entering the era of visual culture,many novels created by Liu Zhenyun,whose works are suited for film adaptation,have been adapted for the screen.After the film Cell Phone won the annual box office champion,I name Liu Yuejin,Untitled Remembering 1942 Project,Someone To Talk To and I Am Not Madame Bovary frequently have been rendered into cinema.The success behind the adaptation is worthy of our in-depth discussion.This paper takes Liu Zhenyun’s novels and the films adapted from the novels as the research object,combing the visual culture perspective,and reading of the novels and the films adapted,summarizes the transformation of Liu Zhenyun’s novels from literature to film narrative strategy,text to visual presentation,text to auditory conversion.Finally,the "compromise" and "concession" in the adaptation are further discussed.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first part is focused on the transformation strategy of the first step from three aspects: the emotionalization of plot,the beautification of the character shaping and the warmth of the revised ending.The second part explores how the adapters use space,color,composition,dialogue,voice-over,music and other audio-visual elements to achieve the screen representation of text;The third part studies the "compromise" and "concession" made by the adapters in the process of creation,including the humanistic connotation of the novel,the narrative function of the film,the rural landscape and folk culture,for the sake of making a deeper thinking and discussion on the film adaptation of literary works. |
