| With the deepening economic,political and cultural ties and interdependence among countries,people all over the world have found themselves in a community with a shared future.While developing our own country well,we also need to pay attention to the development and changes in other countries.The auther of this thesis chooses the social science text Argentina and Her People of To-day by Nevin Winter as the source text and interprets and analyzes it under the guidance of Nida’s functional equivalence theory.This report is divided into five chapters,which are brief introduction to the task,theoretical basis,translation process,case study and summary.The fourth chapter is the main body of this report,which discusses the difficulties in translation and the corresponding solutions at lexical,syntactic and textual levels.This paper focuses on the translation of place names and weights and measures in proper nouns,the conversion of part of speech,the translation of compound words and the addition of category words.In addition,the translation strategies of compound sentences and passive sentences are also discussed in order to provide reference for later translations of the same type. |
