| As the global economy has been booming,the international trade grows with a rapid speed.Accordingly,international cargo carriage becomes increasingly frequent and international economic law plays a prominent part in it.Meanwhile,some rules are particularly important which regulate the obligations of relevant parties in goods transportation.Among these,the Hague-Visby Rules occupy a crucial position,which are taken seriously by the field of economic law in the world.The source book,The Obligations of the Carrier Regarding the Cargo the HagueVisby Rules,full of legal articles on international economic law,is classified to the type of informative text.With the second chapter of the book selected as the study subject,discussions and analyses are conducted on the English-Chinese translation at the lexical,syntactic and textual levels,based on the theory of Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation.At the lexical level,because the source text includes lots of technical words,several translation methods are used,such as conversion,amplification,omission and negation.And the above methods can improve the accuracy of the target text.At the syntactic level,there are many long and difficult sentences with complex structures,so two methods are adopted including the division of long sentence and voice conversion to improve the readability of the translated text.At the textual level,the legal text boasts its unique features,in which sentences are linked closely and the logic of the context is strict.Therefore,conjunctions are added and inversion is applied,which makes it easier for readers to understand the target text.The theory of Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation is applied into the translation of the informative text concerning international economic law,which is instructive to translate this type of text.In the meantime,the translation practice fruits may bring references for instituting goods transportation rules for China.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30... |
