The paper is a translation report on the English-Chinese translation of Nestle 2019 Annual Review. It aims at carrying out a comparative ST-TT analysis by employing House’s newly revised Translation Quality Assessment model,to comprehensively assess the quality of translation.Against the backdrop of economic globalization, the business publicity translation is pivotal to enhancing enterprises’ competitiveness, which requires much heed from enterprises.Among all kinds of business materials, annual reports comprehensively provide information about the company’s operations and financial performances throughout the preceding year.Nestlé’s 2019 Annual Review provides many references for the food industry in products and promotion because Nestle is the world’s largest food manufacturer, ranking 1st in Top 10 Most Valuable Food&Drink Portfolios. The Chinese version of this annual report helps Nestle expand the Chinese market by offering Chinese investors the company’s status quo and visions in the context of economic integration. The translated annual report is a material that helps international enterprises to show their marketing operation, competitive advantages, and organizational structure to the target language countries. The quality of the translation exerts an influence on the communication effect of the enterprise’s promotional materials, the enterprise’s corporate image conveyed to the public, existing and potential investment cooperation, and the reference it provides for peer enterprises. The author has selected seven chapters of the Nestle 2019 Annual Review to translate. The excerpt mainly presents Nestle’s performance in 2019,its commercial strategies and products categories. This paper has applied House’s newly revised translation quality assessment model, taking the English-Chinese translation of the excerpt as an example,to make a comprehensive assessment of translation quality. With complete theoretical and empirical features,House’s TQA models are the most praised and applied in translation criticism and the newly revised TQA model is the most mature, systematic translation quality assessment tool. The paper applies this framework to analyze and compare the source text and the target text.25 cases are selected in dimensions of "Field","Tenor" and"Mode".The analysis is taken at lexical, syntactical, and textual levels and a holistic assessment of translation quality is stated. The study has concluded that there are some "differences" between the source text and the target text in the dimension of "Field" and "Tenor",while in the dimension of"Mode",there are fewer "differences".Differences in the "Field" focus on lexical level.Differences in the "Tenor" concentrate on lexical and syntactical levels.Differences in the"Mode" highlight the syntactical and textual levels. The differences are caused by linguistic and cultural differences between the source language and the target language. The study summarizes difficulties encountered in translation and corresponding skills, and illustrates the limitations in the application of House’s newly revised TQA model. The study aims to provide references to future studies in the field of business publicity translation quality assessment.
