| Vocabulary is the basis of language expression and an important factor affecting listening,speaking,reading,writing and other skills in communication through language.Therefore,the importance of vocabulary teaching is self-evident.The author found in the vocabulary teaching of the Intermediate Chinese Course of the Albania Tirana Confucius Institute that students’ enthusiasm for vocabulary learning was not high and their efficiency was low,the ability of using words was inadequate.For this purpose,the author consulted a large number of relevant literature and conducted interviews with students,the author believes that the "action research" for vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle" is helpful to resolve the problem of vocabulary teaching.Therefore,starting from the practical problems of vocabulary teaching,the author applied the advantages,characteristics and methods of the "communicative principle" into this vocabulary teaching,the purpose is to make a detailed and in-depth discussion and analysis on how to embody the communicative characteristics at the multiple levels in vocabulary teaching.Vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle" emphasizes word usage and advocates understanding and precise use of words in communication through language as much as possible.On this basis,this article mainly uses the designed practical and communicative sentences,the setting of typical contexts for keywords,the increasing of referential questions,the supplement on communicative exercises,the appropriate use of responsive questions,and the way of using information gap activities.For each approach,the author has combined specific teaching examples to explain.At the same time,the author accepts classroom observation,test,interview and other methods to test the teaching effect.The results showed that,after the vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle",vocabulary teaching efficiency has a certain improvement,the students’classroom participation was higher,and had a better understanding and memory of words.In addition,opportunities to use the target words had increased,which most were phrases and long sentences,the frequency of expression in paragraphs has also increased.The number of paragraph expression has also increased,and the ability of using words to express ideas has been improved to a certain extent,basically reaching the author’s expected effect.Students expressed that they appreciated this way of learning because they can express their ideas more freely,understand other people’s opinions and communicate with each other during practice.However,classroom observations,tests,interviews and so on also reflect the author’s shortcomings in adopting these methods.For example,vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle" has certain requirements for students to preview.However,the author did not pay more attention to the students’preview situation,which affects the enthusiasm and accuracy of the answers in the classroom,and did not pay enough attention to the language writing in the classroom and so on.These are subject to further improve in the future.By summarizing the teaching process and actual teaching effect,the author puts forward some suggestions for vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle".The first one is the design of practical and communicative sentences that can be designed in combination with students’ actual life,reality and common sense.It assist students to comprehend and articulate words and apply them in daily life.The second is to add"referential question" to improve students’ participation and exercise their expression ability.According to the characteristics of the words,teachers can combine students’personal situation,experience,ideas and so on to ask questions.The third is to use response questions to encourage students to express themselves in sentences.Teachers should not only pay attention to whether students have learned to use the words but also encourage students to speak long and clear sentences on this basis.The fourth is to use the"information gap" between students to strengthen the interaction.Teachers should pay attention to whether the interaction between students is smooth and effective.The fifth is to encourage students to preview and self-study.Teachers can use new word cards to help students preview,and in the explanation session,they can also ask students to choose words they understand to create and share.The author used a research method called "action research" during the research process,which is taking the students in the class taught by the author as the research object and taking the problems existing in the actual vocabulary teaching process as the main research content.The research goal is to improve the quality of teaching and improve the students’ vocabulary usability.In addition,the research was implemented in strict accordance with the steps of the "action research".First of all,the reasons for the problems in vocabulary teaching are analyzed,and the problems are determined through interviews and reviewing classroom videos.Secondly,it formulate the first round of "action research"plan,implement vocabulary teaching based on the "communicative principle" in teaching,and test the effect and reflect through tests,teaching logs,videos,etc.Then,new action research is implemented for the deficiencies in the first round of action research,and new solutions are taken.Finally,combined with the effects and reflections of the two rounds of"action research",relevant suggestions for vocabulary teaching based on the"communicative principle" in the intermediate Chinese comprehensive course are put forward. |
