In modem Chinese,the format of“非X不可”is affirmed in double negative form.Through the investigation of the existing literature,the author finds that the academic community has made a more detailed analysis of the“非X不可”format from multiple angles,but only a few scholars analyze it from the perspective of language comparison,and it needs to be further studied.Therefore,under the guidance of language comparison theory,this paper will analyze the corresponding expression of“非X不可”format in English by examining the Chinese-English bidirectional parallel corpus,hoping to have a new understanding of“非X不可”format and provide a new idea for teaching foreign Chinese in“非X不可”format.Through the statistical analysis of 2 million words of Bidirectional parallel corpus from Chinese to English and English to Chinese,this paper uses the research method of comparative analysis to compare and analyze the expression of the“非X不可”format in English from three perspectives:literal translation,paraphrase and paraphrase+literal translation.The study found that the expression form of the "非X不可”format in English is very diverse,the use rate of literal translation is the lowest,which can contain double negation and emphasis sentence patterns;followed by paraphrasing,which does not limit the form and only expresses the meaning;paraphrasing+literal translation is used most frequently in the three translation methods,and the meaning of“非X不可”can be used to use English sentence patterns or fixed collocations to correspond to the "非X不可”format,and the necessary meaning of "must,have to" can also be used to correspond to the "非X不可" format.On the one hand,the diversification of expression forms will affect the learner’s understanding and mastery,but if it is correctly guided,using rich expression forms to help learners understand the meaning of the“非X不可”format can also have a positive transfer of learners’acquisition.Combined with the situation of language comparison,we examined the error analysis of the“非X不可”format.It was found that the error generated by learners was mainly interlingual errors and intralingual errors,and the reasons for errors were mainly linguistic factors and pedagogical factors.Therefore,when compiling Chinese as a foreign language textbook,we should pay attention to the grading of language points,rational use of English interpretation,so that the teaching materials are more scientific.Teachers of Chinese as a foreign language should pay attention to the interlanguage comparison when teaching Chinese as a foreign language,understand the relationship between mother language and purpose,and avoid the negative transfer of mother tongue.Also pay attention to the situation method,through the creation of the situation,strengthen the pragmatic teaching,improve the communication ability of learners.
