Jia Pingwa,a literary genius in the contemporary literary world,has created sixteen novels and a large number of short and medium novels with a high degree of creative enthusiasm and amazing speed.The topics of their works are various and rich in meaning and his creations have a significant influence on the new period literature.Jia Pingwa has also been the focus of many researchers.When talking about his literary creation,we cannot ignore his growing environment.Immersing in the unique customs and customs of the Shaanxi,Jia Pingwa grew up in the land of San Qin,thus his literary creation will also be affected naturally,demonstrating strong regional cultural characteristics.As the representative of the folk culture in Qin area,Qinqiang Opera occupies an extremely important position in Jia Pingwa’s life,and helps him to form his strong Qinqiang Opera complex.In his novel creation,he not only introduced Qinqiang Opera in detail,but also used a lot of efforts in his works to quote Qinqiang Opera sings,music scores,and shape Qinqiang Opera artists and fans.He tried to incorporate the Qinqiang Opera into his novel creation.Apart from that,his aesthetic conception was also influenced by Qinqiang Opera’s outlook on world and art,so Qinqiang Opera became an important cornerstone of his literary kingdom.As a kind of folk opera art,the characteristics of folk narrative,such as the folk perspective,folk stand,and the mystery of narrative stories can be vividly represented in Qinqiang Opera.All of these characteristics have a great influence on Jia Pingwa’s novel narrative.What is more,as a part of long history and culture in Qin area,Qinqiang Opera naturally displays the cultural values.Its lyrics are easy to understand,and traditional values such as loyalty,filial piety,ethics,etiquette,and wisdom are interpreted in a secular way.Its ethical value also has an important influence on the choice of ethical stand of writers.Apart from those,the aesthetic features of Qinqiang Opera’s generosity,sadness and enthusiasm are internalized into the aesthetic pursuit of Jia Pingwa’s novels.Therefore,this article intends to start from the perspective of Qin Qiang’s writing in his novels of the new period.The influence of Qinqiang Opera on the narrative characteristics and spiritual connotation of Jia Pingwa and the unique aesthetic style of his novels will be analyzed step by step through the careful reading of the text and focus to the details.Hopefully it will help the readers to have a deeper understanding of Jia Pingwa and his novels from another angle.Excluding the introduction and the conclusion,this thesis is divided into three chapters.The introduction part firstly gives a simple introduction to the Qinqiang Opera and explains the research origin,research status,research content,and research method.The first chapter analyses the narrative function of Qinqiang Opera in Jia Pingwa’s novels with the help of narratology.Jia Pingwa added the Qinqiang Opera to the novel,which makes the novel present the form of the play in the drama and enhances the intertextuality between the plot of the novel and the story of the Qinqiang Opera.The novel’s narrative style,narrative perspective and narrative language are provided.The narrative features of these four parts provide Jia Pingwa’s novel with a different reading experience.The second chapter starts from the ethical values of culture,history and life carried by Qinqiang Opera,and analyses the work to explore the deep connotation of Jia Pingwa’s introduction of opera in novel creation,and the choice of writer’s ethical stand in creation.The third chapter discusses the concrete expression of the aesthetic implication of Qinqiang Opera in Jia Pingwa’s novel creation.From the aspects of overall style,expression and characterization,the influence of Qinqiang Opera on Jia Pingwa’s novel aesthetic style was analyzed.
