Language teaching and culture are inextricably linked,and Chinese culture,as one of the important windows for the world to understand China,is of great importance to international Chinese language teaching.Chinese food culture,as an important part of Chinese culture,has always been one of the most interesting learning contents for Chinese language learners.However,while food is tangible,culture is intangible.How to teach Chinese traditional culture and language knowledge from the point of interest of Chinese learners,and how to use appropriate teaching methods in the Chinese as a Foreign Language classroom,so that the teaching of culture can really become an effective "practice place" for language knowledge and language skills,is a question that we have been exploring as teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.The Body Acting Cultural Teaching Method,born in the Ohio State University,advocates the use of exercises to learn the target language,taking into account language teaching while developing students’ cultural thinking and appropriate behaviour.This paper attempts to apply this approach to the teaching of Chinese food culture to foreign students,as it has been proven over time to be effective in enhancing teaching effectiveness.This paper tries to apply the teaching method of body-acting culture to the teaching of Chinese food culture to foreign countries.The feasibility and necessity of applying the teaching method of body-acting culture to the teaching design of Chinese food culture are demonstrated in terms of the teaching concept,teaching mode and the characteristics of Chinese food culture teaching.Based on the analysis of the teaching objects,teaching objectives,teaching contents and teaching principles of the teaching design of Chinese food culture to foreign countries,a comprehensive and detailed teaching design of Chinese food culture has been carried out at three levels: food characteristics,dining etiquette and festival food customs.In the process of teaching design,we follow the relevant principles of teaching design and closely integrate the teaching method of physical performance culture with the cultural teaching content.Finally,through the implementation of the three teaching design cases and teaching feedback,on the basis of objective evaluation of this teaching design,we use the relevant theoretical knowledge to conduct in-depth analysis,so as to put forward four targeted teaching suggestions,in order to provide a reference for the teaching and research of Chinese food culture.The purpose is to provide valuable reference for the teaching and research of Chinese food culture.
