| In the process of English learning,the quality of grammar learning is related to the quality of English learning.In some traditional English classes,teachers always teach grammar mechanically,that is,they explain grammar rules step by step and require students to try to remember them.Students consolidate them by doing exercises.This teaching method can not achieve the expected level,because students just remember grammar rules mechanically,but they don’t know how to apply them flexibly.In addition,influenced by exam oriented education,most teachers still carry out teaching on the purpose of high school entrance examination,focusing on the teaching of knowledge of book.But they ignore the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability.In this way,it is difficult to achieve the ultimate goal of education.As teachers,we should help students learn more.We can’t simply let students remember the grammar rules in the book,but let students learn English in a real situation.Teachers should create situations that is consistent with the teaching content and then guide them to study in situations.In this way,it can help to stimulate their interest in learning and they can apply what they have learned in the real life.The author studies how to apply the situational teaching method to grammar teaching in the rural junior middle school-Taking the explanation of nominal clauses and adverbial clauses as examples.The research objects are students of the Class 3 and Class 4 in the grade of eight.This study lasted four months.The author uses some methods,such as questionnaire and interview,to test two questions.The first question is to discuss whether situational teaching method can improve students’ interest in learning grammar.The second question is to discuss whether situational teaching method can improve their grades or not.Therefore,the author of this paper will apply situational teaching method in the rural junior middle school.Due to the limitation of the geographical environment of rural schools,rural students are less exposed to new things;Teaching materials are not rich and colorful enough;There are few opportunities for students to meet Britains or Americans with pure accents.The hardware facilities in rural areas have also been improved a lot.However,the soft power of rural schools is relatively weak.Many rural teachers are unwilling to spend time learning and using multimedia and other technologies.They are unwilling to create situation by using modern technology to assist teaching in the classroom.They still teach students in traditional way,In this way,the use of multimedia and other facilities in rural areas is less.The teaching content is boring and single.Therefore,using games,multimedia and other technological ways to create scenes for teaching should greatly improve students’ enthusiasm for learning English.It is hoped that this study will provide some referential significance for English grammar teaching in the future. |
