| At the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Universities,President Xi stressed that all courses should go hand in hand with ideological and political courses,and insist on taking morality and cultivating people as the central link,and emphasize the importance of ideological and political teaching.As a humanistic subject,English contains rich ideological and political elements in its reading materials.Ideological and political curriculum,as a kind of implicit education,leads the ideological value through the combination of explicit professional knowledge to achieve the effect of moral education.However,in the information age,students with poor self-control are easily affected by various bad atmospheres.Therefore,it is a general trend and feasible to integrate the ideological and political elements of the curriculum into high school English reading teaching.The purpose of this research is to investigate the current situation of ideological and political teaching in English reading in high school,and to make attribution analysis of the existing problems,and to propose strategies for improving ideological and political teaching,so as to optimize the teaching concept of English reading and cultivate students’ positive outlook on life,world outlook and values.Therefore,the main questions of this study are as follows:(1)What is the current status of the implementation of curriculum ideological and political concepts in high school English reading teaching?(2)What are the factors that affect the ideological and political teaching of English reading in high school?(3)How to improve the current situation of high school English reading teaching under the background of curriculum ideological and political education?First of all,this study defines the relevant concepts of " Curriculum ideological and political education","Ideological and political courses" and "English reading",and sorts and summarizes the literature on curriculum ideological and political education at home and abroad to provide a theoretical basis for this research.On this basis,the research design of this thesis is formulated,the research tools are determined,and the investigation and research are carried out.Secondly,this research conducted a questionnaire survey and interviews with 160 high school students from a school in Han Zhong City and some high school English teachers in Han Zhong City.This research uses SPSSAU to descriptively analyze quantitative data,and explores the current situation of ideological and political teaching in English reading in senior high schools from the perspectives of teachers and students.The study found that the current students’ development of three views is unbalanced,the penetration of ideological and political elements in English reading classrooms is less,teachers’ awareness of curriculum ideological and political education is not enough,and schools do not pay enough attention to curriculum ideological and political education.After attribution analysis of quantitative data and qualitative data,this study found that the factors affecting the ideological and political teaching of English reading in high schools are: lack of teachers’ ideological and political awareness,limitations of teaching methods,limitations of textbook content,and lack of ideological and political teaching in schools manage.Finally,in order to effectively improve the current situation of high school English reading ideological and political teaching,this research mainly proposes targeted measures from the aspects of innovating teachers’ thinking,strengthening ideological and political development,exploring ideological and political elements of existing textbooks and innovating teaching design. |
