| Reading,as an important input method in language learning,plays a pivotal role in cultivating students’ core literacy.However,there are still a large number of fragmented teaching and shallow reading out of context in the current senior high school English reading teaching.The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017 edition revised in2020)puts forward the View of English Learning Activities that integrates six elements,clarifying that activities are the basic forms of English learning.Teachers should design contextual,hierarchical,and effective English learning activities for students to provide an actionable way for implementing core literacy.In this thesis,there are 52 students in a second-grade class of XX Middle School in Xiangtan City as the research participants to carry out a 12-week teaching experiment.And it is based on the View of English Learning Activities to carry out English reading teaching.This research intends to solve the following two problems:1.How can the View of English Learning Activities be effectively applied to the English reading teaching in senior high school?2.What are the effects of senior high school English reading teaching based on the View of English Learning Activities?Firstly,the current problems in senior high school English teaching were analyzed from three aspects: teaching,teachers and students through questionnaires and interviews.Then,under the guidance of the View of English Learning Activities,the strategies of English reading teaching design in senior high school were explored based on Bloom’s Educational Objective Taxonomy Theory and Constructivist Learning Theory.After that,the teaching design and practice were carried out based on the analysis of the current situation of English teaching and the study of the View of English Learning Activities.After the experiment,the effects in the actual application process were analyzed through questionnaires and interviews.And then the corresponding suggestions were put forward based on the problems that arise,so as to improve the teaching design and practice of English reading teaching in senior high school based on the View of English Learning Activities.The research results show that when designing English reading teaching in senior high school based on the View of English Learning Activities,the first step is to set teaching goals based on academic conditions and textbooks,with particularly emphasis on the study of texts.Later,when designing teaching activities according to the teaching goals,we should not only pay attention to the level and continuity of the activity design,but also make good use of situational teaching,information technology and mind mapping.Besides,we should learn to ask questions and focus on cultivating students’ expressive skills.When we evaluate the teaching effects,we should not only pay attention to the consistency of evaluation goals and core literacy,but also focus on the diversification of evaluation subjects and methods.In addition,finds show that applying the View of English Learning Activities to the English reading teaching in senior high school can not only help students to increase their interest in learning English but also to cultivate students’ core literacy. |
