Female Characterization In The National Opera "Yimeng Mountain"

The creation of the opera "Yimeng Mountain" takes Yimeng Mountain,an old revolutionary area during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,as the creative background,and takes the breakthrough of Daqingshan and the defense of Yuanzi Cliff as the creative material,telling the moving story of the military and people in the anti-Japanese base area of Yimeng Mountain sharing weal and woe and relying on each other for life and death.Composed by Luan Kai,written by Wang Xiaoling,directed by Huang Dingshan,and starring Wang Lida,the opera is co-authored.Relying on the stories of Haitang,Lin Sheng,Sun Jiulong,and other villagers of Yimeng Mountain,Xia He,Commander Zhao,and other officers and men of the Eighth Route Army who fought against the enemy and resisted the invaders together,they showed the fearless spirit of the officials and the people in uniting with one heart,the great love of the nation,and the courageous sacrifice at a time when the country was in danger.The whole play uses panoramic stage art,vividly interpreting the Yimeng spirit of military and civilian water and milk blending life and death and co-casting.This article intends to analyze and interpret the two female characters in the play from the perspective of history,music and society.Through the analysis of the characteristics of female characters and classic singing segments,the significance of female image identity in "Yimeng Mountain" in "Yimeng Mountain" is more deeply explored in Chinese national opera.It can also help the author to have a deeper understanding and accurate performance of the works when studying and performing national opera works.
