Effective learning in the college English classroom refers to the learning process and learning outcomes in which students successfully achieve the desired objectives in the college English classroom.The English language classroom learning environment has a significant impact on English language learning.Among these,college student’s perception of the English classroom environment serves as an essential factor in exploring effective learning in the college English classroom in recent year.Student’s perception and experiences of the classroom environment with their teachers and peers in the English classroom learning process directly affect the effectiveness of college English classroom learning.However,at present,college student’s perception of the English classroom environment is generally weak,and the research at home and abroad has mainly focused on theoretical studies that focus on a single factor.Therefore,this study mainly combines the two factors to explore the relationship between effective learning in college English classroom and college student’s perception of the English classroom environment from the offline classroom perspective in order to achieve effective learning in college English classroom and ultimately promote the improvement of college student’s comprehensive English learning ability.In this context,this study uses constructivist learning theory as the theoretical support,supplemented by Moos’ s human environment theory,Lewin’s field theory,and Murray’s need-press theory as the theoretical guide.This study explores effective learning in the college English classroom from both implicit(learning motivation in the college English classroom)and explicit(learning behavior in the college English classroom)perspectives.Through one semester of experimental observation,the study aims to answer the following three questions:(1)What is the current general condition of college student’s perception of the English classroom environment?(2)Are there any significant differences in college student’s perception of the English classroom environment among different genders,disciplinary professional backgrounds,and grades?(3)What is the influencing relationship between college student’s perception of the English classroom environment and effective learning in the college English classroom?In this study,146 subjects come from college students of non-English majors,class of 2020 and 2021 in Shenyang Normal University.The purpose of choosing the same classroom format for the experiment is to ensure that the same type of students in the study is in the same classroom environment,thus making the results more accurate.The research methods of the experiment are questionnaire,classroom observation,and interview.The experiment lasts for 16 weeks.After the experiment,all the results are compared and analyzed by SPSS 23.0.Based on the analysis of the results of questionnaire,classroom observations and interview,the following conclusions are drawn from this study:(1)The current general condition of college student’s perception of the English classroom environment is at a moderate level.The strongest perception of the“Classroom Management” factor and the weakest perception of the “Classroom Participation” factor are found among college students.(2)There are significant differences in college student’s perception of the English classroom environment among different genders,disciplinary professional backgrounds,and grades.(3)There is a significant positive correlation and regression between college student’s perception of the English classroom environment and effective learning under the learning motivation and behavior in the college English classroom.Therefore,based on the above findings,this study makes the following applications for effective learning in the college English classroom.In terms of the current general condition of college student’s perception of the English classroom environment,the study requires enhancing the degree of student’s engagement in classroom participation at both cognitive and affective aspects.In terms of effective learning motivation in the college English classroom,on the one hand,efforts should be made to give students opportunities to succeed in learning;on the other hand,teachers should stimulate student’s learning expectations through encouraging assessments.In terms of effective learning behavior in the college English classroom,the classroom learning process behavior should be enhanced by providing a communicable platform for students to interact and by setting up a variety of activities;At the same time,student’s self-learning behavior awareness is consciously reinforced by actively correcting their own learning behaviors,by giving student’s subjective initiative,and by student’s rapport with different students,to achieve effective learning in the college English classroom.
