The "English Curriculum Standards"(2011)suggests the teacher should integrally design teaching objectives and take full account of the progressiveness and continuity of language learning.This requires that teachers should first provide an overview of the various sections of the unit and find out the connection between the sections before teaching,the aim of which is to integrally design the teaching objectives,to study the strategy of unit whole teaching,and to carry out the overall teaching.In recent years,the English unit whole teaching is developing fast,while the corresponding assignment designing falls behind.For this reason,the teaching effect will be seriously diluted.In the process of primary school English assignment designing,due to the lack of holistic thinking and systematic research,the connection between the knowledge points of each section is not close enough,which are not completely connected in series.Hence,the unit whole teaching objectives cannot be fully achieved.In order to solve this problem,this paper will explore the unit whole teaching in great depth.By investigating and studying the present actual situation of unit whole teaching and analyzing some teaching cases,this paper finds the gap between assignment and the setting of unit whole teaching objectives,and then puts forward effective strategies of assignment system design,so as to provide reference for better improving the quality of English teaching.This paper is divided into five parts,including the introduction and four chapters.In the introduction part(Chapter 1),I analyze the research background,significance,content and methods of the design and research of primary school’s English assignment system which is based on the concept of unit whole teaching,and put forward related concepts such as whole teaching designing,unit whole teaching designing and English assignment.In the second chapter,I review the research status at home and abroad.In the third chapter,I investigate the content and form of primary school’s English assignment and the current situation of primary school’s English assignment design through questionnaires and teacher interviews,and then analyze the causes of the problems.In the fourth chapter,I put forward some implementation strategies of primary school English assignment system design based on the concept of unit whole teaching,which is analyzed through some assignment design cases.In the fifth chapter,I summarize and put forward the conclusion of the primary school’s English assignment system design based on the unit whole teaching concept,and then analyze its advantages.Meanwhile,in this chapter,I also expound the shortcomings of the research that need to be improved.This study aims to play a greater role in improving the quality of English teaching,hoping to provide some reference for the assignment design of primary school English.
