At present,basic education is facing with the dual task of “burden reduction and quality improvement”.With the “double reduction” policy,more and more experts,scholars and frontline teachers have been involved in homework research in order to reduce the homework burden of students and improve the quality of classroom teaching.Classroom assignment is an important part of classroom teaching,which directly reflects the classroom teaching effect and students' grasp of the situation.Therefore,the design and implementation of classroom assignment plays a vital role.The research takes students from grades 3 to 6 of “Z” Primary School in Shenyang and their English teachers of corresponding grades as the research objects,using literature analysis,questionnaire survey and interview method to find out the existing problems in the design and implementation of English classroom assignments in current primary schools.According to the survey results,the design and implementation of English classroom assignment in primary school mainly include the following three aspects: firstly,the design quality of English classroom assignment is not high;secondly,the completion effect of students' classroom assignment is not ideal;thirdly,the evaluation and implementation of English classroom assignment is not in place.In view of the existing problems,the author integrated the teacher interview records and found that the problems mainly came from teachers,students and school.Based on the attribution analysis of the above problems,this study put forward several specific and actionable improvement strategies for the design,the completion and evaluation of English classroom assignment,as to improve teachers' assignment design level,promote students' learning and development,and improve the quality of teaching in the school.It was hoped that through this research,provide some reference for the design and implementation of English classroom assignment,make full use of the main position of the school classroom,improve the quality of English classroom teaching,reduce the learning burden of students and enable students to get all-round development.
