| In the 19 th century,the trade between Japan and Europe formed a kind of artistic exchange unintentionally.The flatness,simplicity and decorative colors of Ukiyo-e showed a strong visual beauty,which gave the painters since the Impressionists endless reverie.Such as Manet,Van Gogh,Matisse and American artists Whistler,Cassatt and others are inspired by the colors of Ukiyo-e.Under the influence of Ukiyo-e colors,Western painting moved from three-dimensional to two-dimensional,from objective representation to subjective expression,from figurative to abstract,from tradition to modernity.Although Ukiyo-e withdrew from the historical stage with the end of the Edo period,its charming colors still play an important role in contemporary artistic creation.This thesis is divided into three parts: the first part expounds the development of Ukiyo-e colors,the causes of Ukiyo-e colors,the characteristics of colors and their influence in the history of Western art;the second part is the center of the thesis,mainly This paper analyzes and compares the color elements in the works of three representative contemporary artists,Alex Katz,David Hockney and Tomokazu Matsuyama,with the color elements of Ukiyo-e,and proves that the three artists’ works are not related to Ukiyo-e.The reference and development of color elements in different degrees;the third part is mainly about the learning and application of different levels of Ukiyo-e color elements in each stage of personal creative practice. |
