A Study On The Evolution Of "Four Legendary Stories" ——Also On The Concept Of "Legend" Of Hu Yinglin

Hu Yinglin classified "Legend" as "novel" in Shaoshishanfang Bicong."Fei Yan","Taizhen",Yingying" and "Huo Yu" are the representatives of the "Legend" which reflected his cognition of "Legend" novels.Hu Yinglin’s novel classification system is of far-reaching significance.As scholars pointed out that Lu Xun’s Ancient Chinese novel research system centered on "Tales of the Tang Dynasty" was based on the Western novel ideas,they called for a return to Ancient theory with specific articles.Since then,"Re-examining the connotation of’Legend’" has become an issue and Hu Yinglin’s concept just constituted the key to the Ancient and the Modern Chinese novel history.In this article,it concludes and summarizes the typical works and plays directly based on"Fei Yan","Taizhen",Yingying" and "Huo Yu" from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty from the angle of rheological study.Meanwhile,it selected plot,thought,character outline as three elements to present the rheological process.Then it analyzes the influence of the four texts on the later literature in the aspects of characterization,plot narrative mode and selection of fantasy images.By comparing the common characteristics of the four stories in character structure,plot narration,theme and style,the concept of "legend" and "legend" of Hu Yinglin are sorted out and refined.At the same time,by comparing the four story and the rheological process,the turning point of "legend" novels to the "legend" play and the definition of"legendary" from different text explanation are both coming under observation,which concretely explains Hu’s "legend" cognition.What’ more,it can also represent and better explore the development of four legend stories from the Classical Chinese novels into the Secular works.
