| With the development of the global fashion industry and the growing ecological footprint of textile production,many scientists and experts are trying to achieve sustainability and recycling in the fashion industry.China is a textile country,and the translation of textile texts has great academic value and can be used to guide the future development of related industries.This report is an English-to-Chinese translation practice report,the translation material is selected from the Sustainable Textile and Fashion Value Chain,the source text involves a large amount of interdisciplinary knowledge and modern textile technology,including a large number of technical terms,so the source text is an informative text.This report is conducted under the guidance of communicative translation theory,which aims to produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original(Newmark,2001).Combining the theory of communicative translation and the characteristics of the source text,the translator adopted the semantic extension and the annotation when achieving the accuracy of the translation,and when realizing the readability of the translation,the translator adopted the method of omission,voices change,division and conversion.The report shows that the theory of communicative translation is applicable to this report,in addition,the translator need to have a deep understanding and research of the textile knowledge involved in the source text,and pay attention to all aspects of the translation process,especially the translation review process.The translator expects this translation practice to offer new materials to experts and scholars on textile sustainability,provide reference materials for textile students in various colleges and universities as well as translation strategies for the translation of textile technology texts.This translation practice report consists of six parts: task introduction,text analysis,translation process,communicative translation theory,case study under theoretical guidance,and translation summary,limitations and reflections. |
