| At this stage,the development of sustainable textiles and textile circular economy in China is still quite different from that of foreign countries.In order to improve China’s position in the global textile industry chain and promote the sustainable development of China’s textile industry,as well as to enhance the translator’s translation practice,the translator provides an English-Chinese translation of the chapter 19 section of Sustainable Textile and Fashion Value Chain.The translation practice is guided by Newmark’s communicative translation theory.The translator takes into account the text characteristics and then adopts the method of semantic extension and annotation to enhance the accuracy of the translation.Methods such as omission,division and conversion are adopted to improve the translation readability.The source text is an informative text,focusing on objective facts and logical ideas.It contains a lot of cross-disciplinary knowledge as well as modern textile-specific vocabulary.The translator deepens his understanding of the sustainable textile industry by reading parallel texts and searches for relevant information.This paper uses auxiliary tools such as the Beijing Language and Culture University corpus and the US National Corpus to improve the quality of the translation and the overall translation level.This translation practice report consists of six parts: introduction,text analysis,translation process,guiding theory,case study and conclusion.It aims to provide new reference materials for those involved in the field of textile technology and students of textile majors in various universities,as well as translation methods that can be used for the translation of textile technology texts. |
