| The development of events industry plays a vital role in driving the economy.Modern events industry started late in China,however,its development speed ranks first in the world,and the industry competition is fierce.City design events are professional events.After the millennium,they have developed rapidly and become the engine driving innovative industries.Design events are quickly blooming all over the world.China has also recognized the importance of city design events,and there are at least 26 design events nationwide.Visual Identity System design plays a pivotal role in the efficient transmission of information,the establishment of the brand image of events,and the industrialization of events.The new media era is the era of reading pictures and attaching great importance to user experience.People have higher aesthetic needs and are more willing to pay attention to and buy high-value products and services.In the design events in the new media era,the quality of visual design is related to the market value,spiritual value and social value of the events.Therefore,design practitioners and organizers of city design events must attach great importance to it.Based on the background of design discipline,this research integrates the relevant theoretical knowledge of visual communication design,events science,new media communication and other disciplines,and conducts an in-depth study on the VIS design of city design events.Firstly,this chapter introduces visual communication design,eventology,new media theory as the theoretical basis of this article.Researcher elaborate the conception of the significance of events and design events,as well the types and values of design events.Then define the new media environment and its characteristics.Researcher also connect the characteristics of the new media environment with the visual design of design events.Secondly,through literature research and visual research methods,researcher analyzes VIS of 107 city design events collected from the world,summarizing VIS design trend of city design events under the background of new media era.By analyzing the psychological changes and emotional needs of consumers in the era,we could know why the VIS design trend makes sense.Thirdly,taking the VIS theory as fundamental theory,and connecting it with the situation of events and new media era,researcher proposed the design strategy for city design events.Finally,based on Visual Identity Design trend and strategy in design events,this research makes a diagnosis of the VIS design of Guangzhou Design Week,and redesigns its VIS.In this way,I hope that this research can contribute to the building of the city design events brand,the design industry and even the creative industry of a city or country. |
