Research On Umbrella Yangko In Linxian County Western Shanxi Province From The Perspective Of Local Culture

This paper studies the living environment and cultural origin of Umbrella Yangko in Linxian County.From the perspective of vertical and diachronic development,this paper studies the performance content and development process of traditional Yangko ritual activities,and elaborates on the problems in the cultural inheritance of Umbrella Yangko combined with the performance features and development that umbrella Yangko is performed in more stages and is more and more marketized with the context of social and cultural changes.Umbrella Yangko in Linxian is a popular local folk art and a kind of Yangko culture in northern China.It originated from the ancient folk sacrificial activities.After a long historical development,it has gradually become a comprehensive ritual performance activity focusing on song,dance and music,including martial arts,opera,folk songs,acrobatics and other artistic forms.The Umbrella Yangko ceremony is held during the first month of Chinese lunar calendar.It is famous for its large-scale performance and atmosphere.Compared with other kinds of Yangko,its biggest feature is that there are lead performer holding colorful umbrellas,singing Yangko songs and taking charge of the whole performance.The members of Yangko performance are local people wants to join in,so Umbrella Yangko is also the mass art in Linxian County that can mostly represent the local arts.The Umbrella Yangko with the social and cultural changes reflects different cultural features in different periods.The change of Yangko being more and more performed on big stages has changed the presentation forms of cultural diversity of Yangko.With the development environment of marketization and commercialization,the commercial and profitable aesthetic pursuit of umbrella Yangko has been enlarged,and the cultural connotation of traditional art has been weakened.From the perspective of local cultural development,the author of this paper sorted out the development of Umbrella Yangko in Linxian County,and proposed reasonable suggestions for the current development situation,hoping to exert a positive influence on the development and protection of local culture.
