Research On The Efficiency Of Urban Domestic Waste Management And Its Influencing Factors In My Country

Municipal solid waste is an accessory produced in the process of urban construction.The amount of municipal solid waste produced in my country is increasing year by year,which is seriously testing the environmental carrying capacity.Improper disposal of solid waste will not only encroach on the land,affect the daily life of residents,and may also cause serious Secondary pollution.In recent years,the waste classification policy in China has continued to increase,and domestic waste classification has entered a mandatory era.Many places have introduced new urban domestic waste management methods.An objective evaluation of the efficiency of China's urban domestic waste management will help us find problems in our current work,seek the best management path,and promote the reform of my country's ecological and environmental protection management system.This paper first uses the data envelopment analysis method to measure the management efficiency of municipal solid waste in 30 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China from 2010 to 2019,and divides the provinces into four major regions: east,west,central,and northeast,and compares and analyzes the efficiency levels of each region.Then calculate the Malmquist index from a dynamic perspective and decompose it to analyze the overall technical efficiency change trend and technological progress level of municipal solid waste management in various regions.Next use the Tobit model to establish corresponding indicators from the aspects of market competition,waste classification policies,technological level,and industrial structure to analyze their impact on waste management efficiency,and finally draw conclusions and related recommendations.The results of the study show that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the level of municipal solid waste management in China,and the efficiency differences between provinces are large.From a regional perspective,the average waste management efficiency is highest in the eastern region,the western region takes the second place,and the northeast and central regions have poor waste management efficiency.From a dynamic perspective,the overall efficiency level shows a downward trend.In terms of influencing factors,the degree of market competition,the implementation of waste sorting policies,the level of technology and management efficiency are positively correlated.The living standards of residents,the area of built-up areas and the efficiency of municipal solid waste management are negatively correlated.Residents' education level,industrial structure and waste management efficiency are not significantly correlated.Therefore,local governments should set differentiated management goals,and the government should continue to promote mandatory garbage classification,strengthen market competition mechanisms in the garbage industry,reform the traditional government's single management method,carry out technological innovation and rational layout of environmental sanitation infrastructure,and then realize the improvement of waste management efficiency.
