This study starts from the existing problems of the elderly taking Chinese patent medicines,and makes in-depth thinking.In order to improve the user experience of the elderly when using Chinese patent medicines packaging,this paper introduces the theory of affordance into the research of Chinese patent medicines packaging design,analyzes it from a more systematic and comprehensive perspective,and puts forward the strategies of Chinese patent medicines packaging aging design.First of all,through the definition of the concept of the theory of affordability,its application and development in the field of design are clarified,and its application value in the field of packaging design is elaborated.Then,the theory of affordability is introduced into the field of packaging design,and the classification of cognitive affordability,functional affordability,perceptual controllability and emotional affordability in the field of packaging design is proposed.Secondly,through interviews,questionnaires,behavior observation and other methods to investigate the elderly users' demand pain points in the use of Chinese patent medicines packaging.Based on the classification of packaging design affordance,this paper integrates and analyzes the investigated demand pain points,and puts forward four demand words for Chinese patent medicines packaging of elderly users,which are recognizable,easy to operate,perceptible and emotional,so as to complete the demand mining of elderly users based on the perspective of affordance.Thirdly,the preference of the elderly users to the packaging design elements of Chinese patent medicines is studied,and the preference is extracted.Based on the sample extraction of Chinese patent medicines packaging design elements,through questionnaire survey,behavior test,interview and other methods,the preference of elderly users for text,graphics,information layout and color in visual design,as well as the preference of material technology,shape structure and opening mode in functional design are extracted.Then,through the matching analysis of the demand categories of elderly users under the affordance and the preferences of Chinese patent medicine packaging design elements,the paper puts forward more recognizable text design,hierarchical information design and intuitive graphic design strategies based on the recognizable demand of cognitive affordance.Personalized modeling design,simple opening mode design and barrier free structure design strategy based on the demand of function affordance and easy operation;Based on perceived affordance and perceived demand,compensation design to make up for perceived defects and suggestive design strategy to enhance perception are proposed;And the design strategy of enhancing packaging affordance and giving users care based on emotional affordance and humanized demand.And the design strategy of enhancing packaging availability and giving users care based on emotional availability and humanized demand.Finally,through the optimization design of Yunnan Tongda " qiyeshen'an tablets ",the design strategy based on affordance is confirmed,and the use efficiency comparison test and subjective satisfaction evaluation of the packaging design of " qiyeshen'an tablets " before and after optimization are carried out.
