Objective: To observe the clinical effect and safety of Dachengqi Decoction with modified retention enema combined with umbilical compress in the treatment of cancerous incomplete intestinal obstruction. Methods: From January 2020 to July 2020,46 patients with cancerous intestinal obstruction in the Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group received conventional Western medicine combined with normal saline enema. For the treatment group, conventional Western medicine treatment combined with Dachengqi Decoction with modified retention enema combined with umbilical compress treatment. Both groups were treated for 7 consecutive days.Observation and recording of the interval time of fart before and after treatment, the degree of abdominal pain and abdominal expansion, the degree of nausea and vomiting, bowel sounds, abdominal Xray or CT,KPS score, blood routine examination, urine routine examination, stool routine examination, coagulation function, liver and kidney function, electrolytes, electrocardiogram and adverse reactions during treatment. The clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome score,KPS score and safety of the group were evaluated. Results: The results of the two groups of patients after treatment were compared: in terms of effective rate, the treatment group(87.0%)was higher than the control group(52.2%)(P<0.05),which was statistically significant;in terms of TCM syndrome scores, there was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the values of the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was lower than the control group(P<0.05),which was statistically significant. In terms of KPS scores, there was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the KPS scores of the two groups were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was higher than the control group(P<0.05),which was statistically significant. In terms of safety evaluation, there were 2 cases of mild skin adverse reactions in this study, both of whom were from the treatment group, accounting for 8.7% of the total number of people in the treatment group. No special treatment was required without affecting to the research process;no other adverse reactions occurred. Conclusion: On the basis of conventional Western medicine treatment, combined with Dachengqi Decoction with modified retention enema combined with umbilical compress, can effectively improve the treatment effect of patients with cancerous intestinal obstruction and improve the quality of life of patients. In terms of safety, minor skin adverse reactions may occur and no special treatment is required, which is thought as a safe therapy.
