Correlation Study On TCM Syndrome Types Of Acne Vulgaris And Physical And Emotional State

Objective:To study on the incidence of Acne Vulgaris,and the relationship among TCM syndromes of Acne Vulgaris patients and TCM constitution,emotional state and sex hormone level,so as to developing a new idea of clinical treatment of Disease Differentiation-TCM Syndromes-TCM Constitution for Acne.The measures of clinical prevention and treatment of Acne are expected to be enriched.Methods:157 patients were brought into this study.TCM syndrome type and TCM constitution were judged,Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)were used to evaluate patients’ depression and anxiety state,the patients’ skin type and eating habits,fall asleep time,sleep duration were record truthfully,and six sex hormones in some female patients were detected.The data was analyzed by SPSS24.0 statistical software.Results:Of the 157 patients with acne vulgaris,46 patients were Lung Meridian Wind-heat Syndrome,accounting for 29.30%.The most common constitution of patients with Lung Meridian Wind-heat Syndrome was Yin deficiency,followed by Yang deficiency,Damp heat,Qi deficiency,Blood stasis,Phlegm dampness,Qi stagnation and Gentle temperament,without Special intrinsic quality.The most common constitution of patients with Gastrointestinal Damp-heat Syndrome was Damp heart,followed by Qi stagnation,Phlegm dampness,Qi deficiency,Blood stasis,Gentle temperament,Yin deficiency,without Yang deficiency and Special intrinsic quality.The most common constitution of patients with Phlegm-dampness Stagnation Syndrome was Phlegm dampness,followed by Yang deficiency,Damp heat,Yin deficiency,Blood stasis,without Qi deficiency,Qi stagnation and Gentle temperament and Special intrinsic quality.The most common constitution of patients with Liver-kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome was Qi stagnation,followed by Damp heat,Qi deficiency,Yin deficiency,Phlegm dampness,Blood stasis,Gentle temperament and Special intrinsic quality,without Yang deficiency.There was statistically significant differences in the distribution of TCM constitution among patients with the four TCM syndrome(P<0.05).The incidence of depression was higher in patients with Liver-kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome,and the incidence of anxiety was higher in patients with Phlegm-damp ness Stagnation Syndrome,but the differences was not statistical significance(P>0.05).There was no correlation between the gender,skin type,TCM constitution,diet habit,sleep duration and the occurrence of moderate and severe acne in patients with acne vulgaris(P>0.05).The time to fall asleep and the type of TCM syndrome were correlated with the occurrence of moderate and severe acne(P<0.05).Conclusion:The constitution is correlated with the TCM syndromes of patients with acne vulgaris.There is no correlation between the emotional state and the TCM syndromes of the patients with acne vulgaris.The time to fall asleep and the type of TCM syndrome were correlated with the occurrence of moderate and severe acne.There was no correlation among the gender,skin type,TCM constitution,diet habit,sleep duration and the occurrence of moderate and severe acne in patients with acne vulgaris.
