Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Upper Airway Cough Syndrome (wind-phlegm Syndrome) In Children By Expelling Wind And Removing Phlegm

Purpose:Objective to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Qufeng Huatan Decoction in the treatment of children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm syndrome),and to provide clinical medication basis and methods for the treatment of children with the disease.Material and method:From February 2018 to December 2019,70 children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm syndrome)were randomly divided into two groups,namely the treatment group and the control group,with 35 cases in each group.The treatment group and the control group were treated with qufengtan Zhike Decoction and Western medicine respectively.A single course of treatment lasted for one week,and the efficacy was evaluated after two courses of treatment.Before the beginning of clinical treatment,the general information,cough visual analogue scale(VAS)and TCM syndrome score of the children were registered.After the end of treatment,the syndrome score of the children were compared before and after treatment and between the two groups.The collected data were statistically analyzed by spss24.0 software.Result:1.clinical efficacy comparison: the overall effective rate of the treatment group was 94.30%;The overall effective rate of the control group was 88.60%,and the curative effect was better than that of the control group(P < 0.05).2.comparison of TCM syndrome score: the TCM syndrome score of the two groups after treatment was lower than before treatment,so the clinical treatment methods used were effective(P < 0.05).The results of the comparison between the two groups showed that the treatment group had better effects in cough,nasal congestion and expectoration than that of the control group(P < 0.05);In the case of nasal itch,the difference between the two groups was not significant(P > 0.05).3.comparison of visual analogue score(VAS): the visual score of cough(VAS)in both groups was lower than that before treatment,so both groups could significantly improve cough symptoms(P < 0.05).The effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was significant(P < 0.05).4.comparison of follow-up results: there were 2 cases and 9 cases of recurrence in the treatment group and the control group respectively.The difference was statistically significant after the test x2=5.285,p=0.045 < 0.05.It can be seen that qufengtan Zhike can reduce the recurrence rate of the disease more effectively.Conclusion:Qufeng Huatan Zhike Decoction and Western medicine are effective in the treatment of children with upper airway cough syndrome(wind phlegm syndrome),but Qufeng Huatan Zhike decoction has better effect,which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of children,and reduce the short-term recurrence rate.
