During the Qin and Han dynasties, the native of Lu,Mao Heng, wrote the biography of The Book of Songs, which was called Maozhuan, which combined the scriptures of The Book of Songs and the annotated Maozhuan, called Maoshi.During the Eastern Han Dynasty,Zheng Xuan annotated Maoshi.Zheng Xuan not only annotated the scriptures, but also explained the biography, called Zhengjian.Maozhuan and Zhengjian are the oldest and most authoritative works of The Book of Songs and the most complete annotated works preserved. They are indispensable classics for later scholars to read and study the Book of Songs.Chen Qiaocong,a native of Fujian,is a Liberal and Diligent scholar who knows ancient books and is good at the study of classics and history.David pointed out in the book The History of the Book of Songs,"Chen Shouqi,Chen Qiaocong, father and son,are the most outstanding of their peers in the research and analysis of the three new works Poems, and they have a great influence on future generations."Chen Qiaocong has five books about The Book of Songs, and Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi was completed by inheriting the legacy of his father Chen Shouqi. The first chapter will specifically discuss the origin of the writing of Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi. As for the writing process of the book, many former sages have researched and discussed, and they are roughly the same, and there is almost no discussion. After inspecting the various versions of Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi, through textual research,we found that there are five editions of Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi. After collation, the East China Normal University version is the best.Sort out the entries in Chen Qiaocong's Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi and examine its style of writing. When Chen Qiaocong wrote Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi, the style was clear.Firstly,he quoted the original sentence of The Book of Songs;then,Chen Qiaocong quoted a large number of classics to demonstrate the reasons for Zheng Xuan's change of characters;finally Chen Qiaocong expressed his views or opinions through notes.Chen Qiaocong's notes,a wide list of documents, and a wide range of sources, especially the three cited Poems, have made outstanding contributions to philology and the study of missing. At the same time, through the notes, you can get a glimpse of the basis for Chen Qiaocong's judgment on Zheng Xuan's change of characters.Chen Qiaozong judged and sorted out 120 characters of Zheng Xuan's changes through exegetical terms such as "a certain read as a certain","a certain,a certain also",and "a certain reads as a certain".Chen Qiaocong believes that Zheng Xuan's change of characters,or the three Poems of this book, may be changed because of the similarity of the shape and sound of the characters. However,Chen Qiaocong also had some problems in the analysis process. For example, stick to the family law in the argumentation and have different combing styles.Combining bamboo and silk scripts and other documents, objectively analyzing Zhengjian changed the words in Maoshi can correctly understand and evaluate Chen Qiaocong's contribution to the history of classics.
