| Attitude towards professional psychological help affects individuals’ initiative to seek help from professionals when they encounter psychological distress.College stage is a critical period for individual psychological development and maturation.During this period,they begin to bear more pressure and challenges alone,and their psychological problems also show a rising trend.It is helpful to actively seek psychological assistance to cope with psychological crisis and improve their mental health.However,at present,only a small part of students seek help from professional psychological counseling institutions,and the mental health service system in colleges and universities has not been effectively utilized.Previous studies have shown that college students’ attitudes towards professional psychological help-seeking are affected by family factors and personal traits.Based on relevant studies,this paper introduces negative cognitive emotion regulation and self-pity,and uses the questionnaire method to further explore the internal influence mechanism of parental psychological control on attitude toward professional psychological help-seeking,as well as the indirect influence mechanism of family factors on attitude toward professional psychological help-seeking through the influence of individual traits.This study selected three universities of 810 college students were test,use "parents’ mental control scale","cognitive emotion regulation strategies inventory," self-pity scale "," professional psychological help attitude scale to measure the data by using common methods for recycling deviation test,variance analysis,the empirical research on the statistical analysis methods such as correlation analysis,The chain mediation model is constructed and the following results are finally obtained:(1)There are significant differences in attitudes towards professional psychological help-seeking among college students in terms of gender,only child or not,and major.(2)There are significant differences in the psychological control of college students’ parents in gender and whether they are the only child or not.(3)There are significant differences in negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies between gender and being the only child.(4)There were significant differences in self-compassion in gender,major,only child and grade.(5)There were pair correlations among the four variables: parental psychological control positively predicted negative cognitive and emotional regulation strategies,and negatively predicted professional psychological help-seeking attitude and self-pity;Negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy negatively predicted self-pity and professional psychological help-seeking attitude;Self-pity positively predicted attitudes toward professional psychological help-seeking.(6)Parental psychological control negatively affects attitudes toward professional psychological help-seeking: Negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy plays a mediating role in the relationship between parental psychological control and attitudes toward professional psychological help-seeking;Self-pity played a mediating role in the relationship between parental psychological control and professional psychological help-seeking attitude.Negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy and self-pity have a chain mediating effect on the relationship between parental psychological control and professional psychological help-seeking attitude. |
