Research On The Geography Of Handicrafts, Industry And Mining In Taiping Prefecture, Anhui Province In Modern Times (1840-1937)

Taiping Prefecture is located in the southeast of Anhui,along the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River in Anhui Province.Outstanding strategic value.Taiping Prefecture was deeply influenced by the traditional economy.Although it has undergone transformation in modern times,there have been no profound changes.After the opening of Wuhu for trade,various capitals promoted and the development of minerals in Taiping Prefecture,industry and mining have developed significantly,which is typical of the times.After the outbreak of the Opium War in 1840,China began to become a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society.China’s social economy was included in the colonial market of the capitalist world dominated by foreign powers,and modern transformation began.By 1937,when the Anti-Japanese War broke out,Dangtu,Wuhu and other counties fell one after another.The society and economy were severely devastated by the war,and the development of handicraft and industrial and mining industries stagnated.Therefore,the research period of this article is set from the Opium War in 1840 to the full outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937.The development of the handicraft industry and the industrial and mining industry in the three counties under the jurisdiction of Taiping Prefecture in the past 100 years is the research theme of this article.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the geographical environment and architectural evolution of Taipingfu area in Anhui Province.It is mainly divided into three parts,introducing the natural and human geographical environment of Taipingfu area and the administrative division changes of Taipingfu area since ancient times.The second chapter is the geography of handicraft industry in Taiping Prefecture in modern times.It is mainly divided into four parts.It introduces the development and distribution of various handicraft sectors in Taiping Prefecture,mainly including textile industry,sizing industry,craft manufacturing industry,and rice industry.The third chapter is the research on the geography of industry and mining in Taiping Prefecture in modern times.It discusses the germination and development of the industry and mining in Dangtu,Wuhu and Fanchang counties in different regions and periods.After the modernization of the industry and mining industry,the prospecting and distribution of Dangtu and Fanchang iron ore resources and the beginning of the industry and mining industry.During the period of the Republic of China,according to the time clues during the reign of the Northern Warlords and the reign of Chiang Kai-shek’s Nanjing National Government(until the eve of the full-scale Anti-Japanese War),the development of industry and mining in the three counties and their temporal and spatial distribution characteristics were discussed.The fourth chapter is about the reasons,characteristics and influences of the rise and fall of the handicraft industry and industrial and mining geography of Taiping Prefecture in modern Anhui.It is mainly divided into three parts.The first is the analysis of the factors affecting the rise and fall of the handicraft industry and mining in the region.Second,the development of handicrafts,industry and mining has the characteristics of temporal and spatial distribution.In time,it shows the characteristics of gradually increasing from points to areas,the number and scale,and the linear distribution in space,mainly distributed along rivers and rivers.Thirdly,it is the interaction between the development of handicrafts,industry and mining and the region.Finally,a general summary of the full text is made to explore the human-land relationship between the development of handicrafts and industrial and mining industries in Taiping Prefecture in modern times and the development of regional society.This article uses local cultural and historical data as the core,combs the development context of the handicraft industry and industry and mining in Taiping Prefecture,and explores the characteristics of its geographical temporal and spatial distribution under the transformation of modern society.With the hope that for the current hand-manufacturing industry,the development of industry and mining explores some logical laws and can be used for reference,so as to achieve the concept of applying history to the world.
