With the continuous development of contemporary science and technology,terminology has been gradually recognized as an independent discipline of the philosophy of science,promoted by German-Austrian and Russian scholars.At the same time,the study of terminology in traditional linguistics began to seem overstretched,and the study of the form and meaning of terms in traditional lexicography could not solve the problems faced by the maturing terminological system.The study of terminology in linguistics has thus taken a new turn toward focusing on the intersection of terminology and discourse,adopting discourse linguistics,sociolinguistics,and cognitive linguistics approaches,and paying attention to the problems arising from terminology in terms of speech function.The dynamic changes of terminology in language and discourse,and the resulting linguistic problems,have become a new hot topic in terminology research in the linguistic perspective.This selection is guided by the theories of terminology and cognitive linguistics,and takes computer science terms that have entered the daily linguistic communication system and generated certain non-terminological meanings as the research objects.The reasons for these changes are summarized.Based on the previous research on terms and semantic generalization of terms,we defined and screened the computer terms with semantic generalization based on Chinese Term in Computer Science and Technology(3rd edition),combined with the corpus and introspection,and established the corresponding knowledge base of semantic generalization of computer science and technology terms,with a total of 122 terms,marked with generalization degree,term semantics,generalization semantics,relational tokens and example sentences.For the generalization pattern of computer terminology semantics,it is found that there is a projection relationship between the real object system-disciplinary knowledge system-terminology semantic system-generalization semantic systems.Firstly,there is an innate logical system of computer-related objects as artifacts,and the logical associations on these objects are naturally projected into the terminology system in the process of term naming,and the associations existing in the semantic clustering of the terms themselves show a natural systemic nature.Second,according to contemporary theories of terminology,the semantic origin of terms depends in large part on the systematicity of terms,and the aforementioned projective relations are combined into a class of loops through this logical association.Finally,the systematicity present in such loops also gives a possible metaphorical projection of the terminological semantics itself,i.e.,the direct logical source of the terminological semantics in the process of generalization through communication is not the real object,but the projection of the perceived object system and the terminological system formed therein.A total of four basic features of semantic generalization of computer science and technology terms are analyzed and stated.For the changes in syntactic functions and semantic combinations caused by the semantics of generalization of computer terms,the paper shows some subtle syntactic changes based on the semantic syntax,the marking of lexical semantics and syntactic semantics of these contents.Specifically,several of them are noun-verb interchange,concurrent class coexistence,and terminology-generalized interaction.Starting from the idea of systematic projection,this paper summarizes the internal motives of semantic generalization of computer terms,arguing that the prosperity of computer science and market in real society,and people's communication needs and aesthetic needs provide the external motives of this change.And the simplicity and harmony of rational understanding itself,which determines the similarity between terminological semantics and generalized semantic system,becomes the fundamental internal motivation for semantic generalization.In this paper,based on the theories of terminology and cognitive linguistics,and based on the knowledge base of computer terminology generalization,we finally construct a model of semantic generalization of computer terms,describe the characteristics of semantic generalization of computer technology terms,and explain the motivation of the phenomenon.However,due to the realities of time,capacity,and corpus size,the study is relatively superficial,especially the research on syntactic functions,which is rather thin and needs further improvement.
