| The core literacy and curriculum standards put forward the requirements of cultural awareness for students’ English learning,but in reality,reading teaching mostly adopts the traditional teaching mode and ignores the expansion of cross-cultural communication knowledge.Reading teaching is an important part of English discipline.High-level primary school students begin to have a lot of contact with reading texts and have certain cross-cultural knowledge.Cultivating cross-cultural communicative competence is an effective way to improve their reading efficiency.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of cross-cultural communication in high-level reading teaching in primary school,and to provide some suggestions for high-level English Reading Teaching in primary school.The study selected 314 senior students and 5 teachers of Beitan primary school in Jinzhong City,Shanxi Province as the research object.Using the methods of questionnaire and interview,the study investigated the current situation of the cultivation of cross-cultural communicative competence in reading classroom.From the perspective of students,the questionnaire studies students’ mastery of cross-cultural communication knowledge,their ability to extract and understand cross-cultural communication information from reading texts,and students’ understanding of cross-cultural knowledge teaching of reading teachers;From the perspective of teachers,the interview analyzes the senior teachers’ understanding of the cultivation of cross-cultural communication in the reading classroom,the importance of the cultivation of cross-cultural communication ability,the obstacles existing in the current implementation of cross-cultural communication cultivation in the reading classroom,and the teachers’ suggestions on the cultivation of cross-cultural communication ability in the reading classroom.The study found that cross-cultural communication knowledge is loved by most students,and the introduction of cross-cultural knowledge in reading teaching has also been recognized by most teachers.However,there are some problems in the implementation:Teachers’ own cultural literacy is not high,the introduction of cross-cultural knowledge in reading teaching is insufficient,and it is not easy to obtain cross-cultural teaching materials.Finally,based on the analysis of the current situation of cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence in high-level reading teaching in primary school,combined with the research results and relevant literature,the author puts forward suggestions from three aspects: pre class preparation,in class operation and after-class expansion,and provides lesson examples according to the suggestions.In short,only by making concerted efforts from all stages of the reading classroom can we create conditions for the effective development of cross-cultural communication ability training,help students master more cross-cultural communication knowledge and improve English reading ability. |
