Compared with large-scale pig farms in America and Europe,small-scale and family-holding of them are common and distinctive in eastern Asia.Carbon emission has always been a key issue in livestock breeding.However,the ever-growing amount of drug applications in livestock breeding have been playing an increasingly important role in carbon emission.Therefore,in this study,we have adopted the theory of life cycle assessment(LCA),employed the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC)greenhouse gas(GHG)field calculation and use Manure-DNDC model to accurately estimate the GHGs emissions.According to the statistics,the spatial and temporal differentiation of pig breeding in Yancheng City are revealed,and the strategy of carbon emission reduction in pig breeding under small family mode is proposed.The results are following:(1)The total carbon consumption of pigs in the family farming is about 492.62 kg(in terms of CO2).According to the total carbon emissions of all breeding links,the CO2emissions of the management system are 306.6 kg,accounting for 59.06%of the total life cycle carbon emission intensity;the feed planting system is 181.50 kg,accounting for 36.84%;waste treatment system 68.98 kg,accounting for 14.0%;transportation 13.34 kg,accounting for 2.71%.(2)Manure-DNDC model correctly simulated the GHGs emissions process of waste N2O,CH4.During the full breeding cycle,revealing the impact of feed input,manure treatment and environmental conditions on greenhouse gas emissions.N2O emissions during the full cycle of pig farming were 0.18 kg and CH4 emissions were 1.34 kg.(3)In the time series dynamic framework of the process model,the feed planting system,the pens management system,and the greenhouse gas consumption process in transportation are given time series,and a single indicator of GHGs emissions intensity can be constructed to draw an intuitive and Time-varying,dynamic greenhouse gas emission curve.Characterizing the greenhouse gas emission characteristics of the whole breeding cycle,provide a scientific and reasonable reference for regional carbon reduction and emission reduction decision-making.(4)According to the statistical data of Yancheng City in 2008-2017,using GIS analysis method to study the spatial and temporal characteristics of GHGs emissions from pig breeding in Yancheng City,and calculating the emission center of the pig breeding industry in Yancheng City,which provided a scientific research for regional carbon reduction.(5)According to the characteristics of carbon emission intensity during the whole life cycle of pig breeding,the carbon-saving emissi pig breeding mode is proposed.Scientifically controlling the amount of chemical fertilizer application,formulating a reasonable manure transport strategy,establishing a centralized treatment of manure treatment mode,vigorously building a biogas project,and promoting a“planting and breeding”agricultural production model can significantly reduce carbon emissions from pig breeding. |
