The Extended Application Of Folk Paper-cut Art Style In The Design Of Auspicious Patterns

Chinese traditional auspicious patterns and folk paper-cuts are the descriptions of the folk customs at that time by Chinese laborers for thousands of years,they are people’s blessings for a better life,and they are the charming treasures of Chinese traditional culture.However,in recent years,with the impact of Western culture,the traditional Chinese culture and its cultural connotations represented by auspicious patterns and paper-cuts have been gradually forgotten by people.Based on the background of the continuous reduction of the development space of traditional culture in contemporary society,this topic takes the auspicious patterns and folk paper-cut art styles as the research objects,and through the creation of the work "Fu Shou Ruyi",explores the expansion and application of the folk paper-cut art styles in auspicious patterns.This paper sorts out the theoretical knowledge related to the subject through the method of literature analysis,and summarizes the three modeling characteristics of auspicious patterns,six expression techniques and the characteristics of five artistic styles of paper-cutting.According to the expression techniques and modeling characteristics of the auspicious patterns,the images of the works are selected and designed,and then combined with the artistic style of paper-cutting,the pictures and thematic images of the works are exaggerated and abstracted to beautify,so that the auspicious patterns can present a new look in the new era through design.The auspicious pattern works of "Fu Shou Ruyi" will be expanded and applied on three relatively "young" carriers: color multi-layer 3D paper carving,hand-embroidered embroidery and modern cultural and creative products,so as to realize the collision of "traditional" patterns and modern technology.The author’s practice on the subject of "Expanded Application of Folk Paper-cut Art Style in Design of Auspicious Patterns",let more people know about auspicious patterns and paper-cutting,make traditional patterns take on a new look in the new era,and provide a new idea for the modern design of traditional patterns.
